James Joseph Biswell (1849-1913). James was a road supervisor for Baker County around the turn of the 20th century. He married Sally Ann Eubank (1852-1909). Their children were Wallace, Carrie, William, Ora, Roger, and Ella. Roger Biswell, Sr. (1883-1943) became a doctor. In 1907 he married Mary Myrtle Bratton (1885-1974). Roger and Mary had two children: Marjorie Biswell Watson (1911-1999) and Dr. Roger Biswell, Jr. (1910-1969), who with his wife, Dr. Flora Biswell (1911-1998), practiced medicine in Baker for many years. Roger and Flora had three children: Roderick "Rick", Mary, and Ann (BHS '55, '56, & '62). Marjorie Biswell Watson and David Edmund Watson (1910-1987) are the parents of Suzanne Watson Fleming, who granted the library permission to include these Biswell photos. Wallace "Wally" Merle Byam, inventor of the Airstream travel trailer, was born 7-4-1896 in Baker City to Bert Byam and Carrie Biswell Byam. Wally was first cousin of Marjorie and Roger, Jr. The Byams divorced and Carrie remarried to Dave Davis. The family moved from Baker City when Wally was about 10 years old. Carrie's parents were James Joseph Biswell (1849-1913) and Sally Ann Eubank (1852-1909).
