Date of photo 1950's
Description Robinette School (District 71). At left is the house of the Carrithers family. The house used to be a dancehall. Ray and Francis "Frankie" Carrithers were owners/operators of the Robinette Store and Post Office, which they purchased in 1948. They raised their children, Diane and Richard, in Robinette.
Diane Carrithers Carlisle attended here from 1948 until November 1954. Diane wrote this description of Robinette School:
"With grades 1-8 the school was next door to our house. There were 7 to 11 students. I was always the only one in my grade. My parents were frequently school board members. We were allowed to bring our dogs to school, if they were well-behaved. Ours was. He used to sleep beside Rick's or my desk and looked forward to recess as we did. Bernice Robinette was our teacher from the time we arrived in Robinette (3/48) until the end of my 7th grade in 1954."
