Description |
Israel D. Haines. Born in Xenia, Greene County, Ohio December 7, 1827, the second son of Reuben and Nancy (Connely). He was married in Baker City to Miss Sarah Minerva Dorsett on the 23rd of Nov 1871. In 1864 he was admitted to the bar and began practicing law in Silver City, Idaho. He came to Baker County shortly thereafter, where he practiced law. In 1884, he founded the town of Haines on the newly built railway. He died in Baker City June 19, 1892.
