Description |
Meeker, Ezra getting an ox shod in Seattle, Washington, just before he set off retracing the Oregon Trail from west to east, reverse of his 1852 trip west as a young man. Meeker made it to Baker City by April, 13, 1906, where on April 19 he dedicated the Oregon Trail Monument at the Old Central School (now Middle School site). The monument is now located in the center of Geiser-Pollman Park. Thousands of this postcard were printed. Meeker did the same trip again in 1910.
