Description |
Sanford Adler (1892-1980). Funeral service program conducted at Langrell Mortuary Chapel, Rev. Lawrence Roumpf officiating. Pallbearers were Bill Kirkpatrick, Don Badgley, Carl Kostol, Tom Bunch, Loren McBride, and Oren Jordan. Among the honorary pallbearers was Henry Levinger. Sanford Adler and wife, Mary, lived at 2650 2nd. His brother, Leo Adler, was born in 1895 and died in 1993. Sanford graduated from Baker High School in 1910 and continued his education at the University of Oregon. Following graduation he and his wife operated a music store in Baker City called Crystal Palace that had been founded by his father, Carl Adler. He was postmaster in Baker for twenty-five years until his retirement in the early 1960's. Louise researched and compiled the book "Galloping Gourmet." Sanford also served as a Board Member for the Salvation Army for many years. For a photo of Sanford and Louise see image 2008.13.8. |
