Description |
Sumpter. Henry Ireland. He was ranger of the Blue Mountain Forest Reserve. Later, after the Whitman National Forest was formed, he became the first supervisor.
Brooks Hawley wrote: Henry Ireland was McEwen Lodge Master in 1912, before the office was moved to Baker. When he died so unexpected in 1916, Old Baldy was changed to Mt. Ireland in his honor, a more distinctive name. |
