Description |
Sumpter. Rimbol Young (1885-1954). He was the son of Joseph Young, who with partner Charles Rimbol owned the townsite of Sumpter. Image 1992.1.296 shows Rimbol Young and classmates at Sumpter School in 1900
The Reveille newspaper, 5-22-1884, described Sumpter this way: 1 hotel, 1 store, 1 blacksmith shop, 1 mill, all owned by Rimbol & Young who have a patent on the townsite.
Blue Mountain American, 3-4-1905: Death of Joseph D. Young, who with Charles Rimbol acquired title to the Sumpter townsite, which they sold in 1894 to A. W. Ellis.
