Bennett, William. Sumpter sawmill owner.
Brooks Hawley note: William Bennett was a believer in smaller sized sawmills. Even a generation later his son, M. F. Bennett, was following the same tradition. One of the last little mills, made out in the woods, was Bennett's mill, off the old Auburn Road, where the lumber for our house was sawed and planed in 1928 and 1929.
