Description |
Earle Oliver Denham in singing costume. Earle was born 9-11-1897 in Baker City. He died 11-1-1975 in Richland, Washington. He was the son of Hugh and Margaret "Maggie" Gooding Denham. He married Mary Louise Herfurth 7-19-1930 in Portland, Oregon. Earle was a gifted tenor singing publicly, including a classical repertoire, during the 1920's. In 1929 he went to work for KOIN radio in Portland, where he did announcing and singing but soon entered into the technology side of the radio business, later moving into TV. He retired in 1972 after 43 years at KOIN. Earle and Mary had two children: Dale Hugh born 5-6-1938 and Mary Margaret born 5-28-1940. In 1992 Dale H. Denham published "Denham Threads: The Descendants of Hezekiah S. and Winney (Littell) Denham, 1802-1991," from which was drawn much of the information about the people appearing in the photos of the Denham Collection.
