Description Roy Archibald Denham portrait. Born in 1889 in La Grande, Oregon, to Hugh and Margaret Denham. He died at St. Elizabeth Hospital in 1932 of peritonitis following an appendectomy. In high school Roy was a member of the championship teams of 1908 and 1909. He was quarterback of the 1909 championship team. He was also a star of the track team running the 100 and 440 yard races. In 1911 Roy married Mignon Ina Miller (1892-1945). They had three children: Ina Margaret in 1913, Mignon Ethel in 1915, and Jessie May in 1921, who died in infancy. In 1917 the family moved to Prairie City, where Roy worked for Sumpter Valley Railway.
