Description Oliver Hazard Perry McCord (October 16, 1881 to Feb. 12, 1968) Collected many of the historic photos in the library's collection. Son of S. B. McCord (7-22-1842 to 7-9-1894).

Oliver Hazard Perry McCordwas named for his grandfather (11-26-1814 to 2-22-1888) by the same name who was born the same year as naval officer Oliver Hazard Perry, who became famous as the hero of the battle of Lake Erie, the battle that turned the tide of the War of 1812 with Britain. As a young man he was a bank clerk. In later years he had a real estate and insurance business, in which he was assisted by his son, Robert. O. H. P. McCord was hit by a car in Baker City and killed 2-12-1968. One of O. H. P.'s passions was collecting old photos of Baker City and Baker County. In 1981, Robert's widow, Neva McCord, gave the photo collection to Baker County. It's been archived in the Baker County Library ever since.
