| Ballard Bridge, former site. The bridge which was removed in the 1960s in anticipation of waters rising behind Hells Canyon Dam. The site was down Snake River from Homestead several miles. A campground on the Idaho side may be seen at right of photo. At this site Hess Road and Kleinschmidt Grade ascend the Oregon and Idaho sides of Hells Canyon. |
