SVRy. Trestle on Clear Creek on Baker White Pine Logging Railroad.
Brooks Hawley note; The White Pine logging railroad was put in at Curry about 1921. The steel was taken up in November 1939. There were three trestles: on Little Dean Creek, Dean Creek, and Clear Creek (or a side canyon coming into Clear Creek). This was the biggest trestle, 110 feet high and 900 feet long. It was torn down about 1948.
Notice rider and two horses (one must have been Hawley's) at lower right. |
