Description |
Train wreck SE of Baker City, ca. 1905. A derrick in the middle is clearing the track of debris and lifting cars and engine back upright. In front of it is an engine brought in for the cleanup. The light colored car probably held the track crew, which is made up of black workers, one of which is sitting on the bank at right. At middle left is a carriage with two men and a woman standing beside it with a woman peering out the carriage door. The carriage probably belonged to the photographer, Hugh Denham. The women may be his wife (inside) and daughter. |
