Description |
Stage coach above Anthony Lake. Lee's Peak and Lakes Peak are in the background. The road must be what today is the ski area's "Road Run," which is a road that winds up the east side of the ski hill and then down the south side to meet the present Anthony to Granite Road at its junction with the Chicken Hill Road. If you look closely, you can see two horsemen 15 yards ahead of the stage coach. The story of this photo, unconfirmed, is that the action here was part of the filming of the 1968 movied Paint Your Wagon, which was mainly filmed in the East Eagle Creek area of Baker County. |
