| Description |
Oregon Lumber Co. mill at Austin? The Sumpter Valley Railway arrived in Austin in 1905, which allowed Oregon Lumber Company to build a sawmill and use the railway to transport the lumber to Baker City. Later the company built a much larger operation a mile west at Bates.
