Mother Lode Mine. Copper mine 4 miles S of Balm Creek Reservoir and 6.4 miles NE of Keating. In the early 1900's there was much speculation that the area from Keating to Homestead contained a huge band of copper ore. But no significant amounts of copper were ever produced except at the Iron Dyke Mine at Homestead.
