Description Rainbow Vigilance Corps. Nothing is known about this photo. It appears to be at a mine, probably the Rainbow Mine in Mormon Basin, main period of operated 1901 to 1919. The Rainbow Vigilance Corps may have been an organization with the purpose of keeping Chinese miners out of Mormon Basin. In 1903 there was a federal investigation at request of Chinese government of an incident in which whites attacked a Chinese camp in Mormon Basin injuring some Chinese, setting fire to buildings, and stealing.
