Description	Midway Mine. Hoist plant and sawmill. The spool of cable for the hoist may be seen to the right of the boiler. There's a large circular saw at upper left of photo, large stacks of cord wood at the right, and draft horses in the center above the boiler. Brooks Hawley note: Newspaper article said that Tom McEwen's transfer company hauled a Scotch marine boiler to the Midway Mine in August 1903. Photo 1992.1.522 shows the boiler leaving Sumpter.
