Description Sumpter in ruins after fire of August 13, 1917. Photo looking southwest at the brick building that housed three businesses on the south side of Granite Street between Mill and Center streets. Note the charred trunk of Sumpter's only downtown tree at the SW corner of the intersection. The intersection of Mill and Granite streets is behind Mr. Edwards who salvaged some soda fountain chairs from his store in that building. A note on the photo says that Dunphy, Wiegand, and Edwards were proprietors in the three businesses.

There is another copy of this photo in the folder.
