Description Richland. Richland Hotel. Burned in the 1930's.

The Richland Hotel was located where the Eagle Valley Soil and Water District office is now, between Richland Automotive and Flip's Cafe. George Holcomb remembers having dinner there once when he was 14. Both he and George Moody recall it was near the blacksmith shop where Eagle Bennehoff, J. S. "Sumner" Woods and John P. Jones took care of the teams. "There wasn't a team Eagle Bennehoff couldn't shoe," Moody recalls. One of the many owners of the hotel was George Walter Miller. It was probably vacant when it burned. (The foregoing information is from a newspaper clipping caption under a photo of the hotel. Date unknown. Newspaper probably the Democrat-Herald.)
