Description Ezra Meeker at dedication of the Oregon Trail Monument. The monument was erected near the sidewalk; the top of the monument sticks up behind the wagon cover.
The monument was erected on April 19, 1906, on the grounds of the Old High School, also known as Central School. The photo was taken from the steps of the school building. Ezra Meeker is the man with a white beard holding a hat in his right hand and a bouquet of flowers in his left in the lower right corner of the photo. The oxen were named Twist and Dave.
