Description Baker City Municipal Natatorium. Built in 1919, warm water was supplied by a pipeline from Sam-O Spring at the east edge of town.

During WWII the Nat was turned into a war industries factory making truck beds and other items from local wood. After the war it was used as a National Guard armory for several years. After being vacant for many years and on the verge of being demolished, the city sold it to Baker County, which created a Museum Commission that operates the building as the Oregon Trail Regional Museum.

Postcard by Wesley Andrews. View is of SW corner with many cars parked around building.
