Description Teddy Roosevelt's campaign train at Baker City depot in 1912. Besides the main depot building, the Crabill Hotel is at right, Columbia Hotel in the middle.
Republican Party denied Theodore Roosevelt its nomination for President and instead backed incumbent William Taft. Roosevelt bolted the Republican Party to run under the banner of the Progressive Party, renamed the Bull Moose Party. Woodrow Wilson was the Democratic nominee. The election turned into a two-way race between Roosevelt and Wilson, who won, with Taft running a distant third.
