Description Polk County Courthouse. Baker County's courthouse was built from the same plans as Polk County's courthouse. County officials went to Dallas, Oregon, in 1908 to view it, before finalizing plans for the new Baker County courthouse. Baker County's courthouse has these differences: (1) a double staircase and entrance; (2) a clock tower with single windows, not double; and (3) a third story. (See second image attached to this record for comparison.) Baker County's courthouse lost its extra staircase and entrance, when the annex was added to the south side.
